About this programme
The Computer Science Tripos combines mathematics, engineering, electronics, psychology, natural sciences and philosophy. Cambridge established the first computer science department globally in the 1930s and built the first usable programmable computer in the 1940s. Curriculum emphasises foundational principles over current technology; languages taught include OCaml, Java, C/C++ and Prolog. Teaching combines lectures, practical classes and college-based small-group supervisions.
